Aprille McMahon

Hi, I’m Aprille. I’m a Clinical Nutrition Therapist, Counsellor and Psychotherapist, Health Coach and Life Coach. I’m also a qualified teacher, a wife and a mother of two young adults.

I understand that life can feel like a constant juggle of responsibilities, and it is easy for your own wellbeing to slip to the bottom of the list. My work is about helping you create realistic, compassionate steps towards better health and emotional wellbeing, so you feel more supported, resourced and able to care for yourself as well as those you love.

Many people find that nutrition concerns and emotional wellbeing are closely connected. You may be seeking support with food, weight, digestion, energy, fatigue, emotional eating, body image, menopause, exercise planning, time management, or developing healthier and more sustainable eating habits.

You may also be navigating stress, low mood, anxiety, overwhelm, motivation difficulties, relationship concerns, or the demands of work and family life. Support may be helpful if you are living with, or would like nutrition and lifestyle guidance alongside, conditions and considerations such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), ulcerative colitis, diabetes, heart-health concerns, high blood pressure, dementia or neurodivergence.

You may have considered seeing a nutritionist or dietitian for food and health concerns, while also seeing a counsellor or psychologist for stress, emotions or behaviour change. As a Clinical Nutrition Therapist and Counsellor, I offer integrated support in one place, bringing together practical nutrition guidance with counselling for the emotional, behavioural and everyday factors that can affect your health and wellbeing. Where specialised medical, dietetic, psychological or other care is needed, I can work collaboratively with your GP and relevant health professionals to support appropriate referral.

I  also know that the mind is one of the most powerful parts of who we are, and with the right support, it can become an ally rather than something that feels out of control. Your thoughts, emotions, digestion, energy and physical health can all influence one another. When we work together, we will focus on a simple but powerful idea: eat well, think well, feel well, because feeling well can make everyday life more manageable and enjoyable.

Nutrition and self-care can be easy to put aside until the day you realise that, if you want to feel better, something needs to change. With supportive nutrition and a lifestyle that works in the real world, you can improve your energy, mood, and wellbeing. You do not have to overhaul everything at once. Small, guided changes can help you feel more in control of your health and more like yourself again.

You do not need to do this on your own, and there is nothing wrong with asking for help. Most people benefit from having support behind them. Together, we will focus on small, realistic changes that can make a meaningful difference over time. It is possible to build new habits one step at a time, habits that help you feel better in your body, calmer in your mind and more in control of your life. Explore my services ▸

During our one-on-one consultations, we will set realistic goals together, put practical strategies in place, and make gradual changes that can transform your relationship with food. I will guide you towards an uncomplicated, sustainable way of eating that feels achievable in everyday life, so you can stop feeling overwhelmed and start feeling confident about how you nourish yourself.

A few personal tips…

As someone who has tried numerous diets and popular weight loss fads, visiting Aprille was the best thing I have done. Aprille provides a way to lose weight that can be applied to the real world. Regular check-ins allow for the accountability that was lacking in my weight loss journey. I have already lost over 10kg!
